Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise

Equity prices were rising on Wednesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 1.61 percent, standing at 1,280.94 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 13.155 million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.42 percent, and the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 1.45 percent.
Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Media, up 9.51 percent; Insurance, up 3.62 percent; Telecoms, up 1.88 percent and in Banks, up 1.85 percent.
The only losses were in Real Estate, down 0.32 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 53 were up, 19 were down, and 10 were unchanged.
