Panathinaikos moves to EuroLeague final after victory over Fenerbahce

In a decisive EuroLeague semifinal clash, Panathinaikos Athens secured a commanding victory against Fenerbahce Istanbul, prevailing 73-57 at Berlin’s Uber Arena

on Friday evening.

The highly anticipated game was briefly delayed by 26 minutes due to security concerns. Outside the indoor arena, incidents of hooligan violence were reported, with media attributing the unrest to young Turkish fans.

Panathinaikos wasted no time asserting dominance, launching into the game with an impressive 12-0 run. Their relentless performance secured their place in the EuroLeague final.

Awaiting them in the championship showdown is Real Madrid, who earlier defeated the second Greek team, Olympiacos BC, in a hard-fought battle.

The Spanish side maintained their lead throughout the game, ultimately triumphing 87-76 over the Greek champions.

Despite hopes for an all-Greek final, Olympiacos faltered in the fourth quarter after a spirited rally in the third. Panathinaikos, on the other hand, showcased resilience, limiting Fenerbahce to a mere 57 points.

The EuroLeague final four, a pinnacle event in European basketball, rotates annually to different major cities, featuring the continent’s premier professional clubs.
