German FinMin: Greece has made great progress

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble in an interview to German state TV ARD left open the possibility for an extension of the repayment of loans or a reduction of interest rates provided that Greece has met the conditions, but he ruled out the possibility of a new «haircut» of the Greek debt.

Schaeuble admitted that Greece has made «great progress», adding that there are though some structural reforms still to be done.

The German Finance Minister also predicted that there will be need for further economic aid at the end of the current programme.
