The Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University invites applications for a one-year Temporary

Lecturer position in U.S. History. The specialization is open, but a focus on African American history, southern history, or gender studies will be given preference. The successful candidate will teach both introductory American history survey courses and upper-level/graduate courses each semester. The starting date is August 2012.

A Ph.D in History (or related field) and university teaching experience are preferred but applications from ABDs will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for continued professional development, scholarship and community engagement. A successful criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
