9χρονο ΑμεΑ στην Εβδομάδα Μόδας της Νέας Υόρκης

Η Ντέιζι-Μέι Ντιμίτρι από το Μπέρνινχαμ, γεννήθηκε με ινώδη δυσπλασία των οστών, ασθένεια κατά την οποία λείπει μέρος ή το σύνολο του οστού στο πόδι. Αυτό σήμαινε ότι έπρεπε να υποβληθεί σε διπλό ακρωτηριασμό όταν ήταν μόλις 18 μηνών. Στην Ντέιζι-Μέι τοποθετήθηκαν προσθετικά πόδια, ώστε να μπορέσει να περπατήσει.

Σήμερα η 9χρονη Ντέιζι-Μέι κάνει τα πρώτα της βήματα και στις πασαρέλες. Η πρώτη της εμφάνιση σε πασαρέλα έγινε στην Εβδομάδα Μόδας για παιδιά του Λονδίνου με την εταιρεία

Lulu et Gigi Couture, η οποία ιδρύθηκε από τη σχεδιάστρια Eni Hegedus-Buiron πριν από πέντε χρόνια και ειδικεύεται στην παιδική ένδυση με επιρροές από την γαλλική κουλτούρα.

Ο πατέρας της μικρής Ντέιζι-Μέι, Άλεξ, δήλωσε, σύμφωνα με το CNN, ότι πάντα ενθάρρυνε την κόρη του να ακολουθήσει τα όνειρά της.

«Με ενέπνευσε, δείχνοντάς μου ποια είναι. Αντιμετωπίζει τη ζωή πάντα με ένα χαμόγελο στο πρόσωπό της και κάνει αξιοσημείωτα πράγματα. Είτε χορεύει, είτε τραγουδάει. Είναι ένα ξεχωριστό πολύ μικρό κορίτσι», είπε ο πατέρας της.

Και κάπως έτσι η Ντέιζι-Μέι θα περπατήσει στην πασαρέλα στην Εβδομάδα Μόδας της Νέας Υόρκης στις 8 Σεπτεμβρίου, κάτι που δεν την τρομάζει, καθώς εδώ και 18 μήνες ασχολείται με τη μόδα και έχει ήδη στο ενεργητικό της, συνεργασίες με την Nike, την River Island και πολλές άλλες μεγάλες εταιρείες στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.
