'The country is at a turning point,' Venizelos tells TV interview

Speaking in an interview on Alpha private television station on Tuesday evening, he clarified, however, that “if people choose a political crisis while we are on our way out of the economic crisis, their choice will be respected”.

He said that there as improvement on the

macroeconomic and fiscal levels and gradually this improvement will reach households, businesses and individuals, referring to the primary surplus achieved and its distribution to the people in the form of a social dividend.

Citing the position expressed by European Stability Mechanism (ESM) head Klaus Regling, he repeated that the debt is sustainable and underlined that “additional measures will not be necessary”.

Venizelos also said that the people will have to make a choice in the forthcoming elections, noting that everyone should assume their share of responsibility and underlined that his mission is to contribute to the efforts aimed at leading the country out of the crisis.
