International colloquy on repatriation of Parthenon Marbles held in Sydney

O’Farrell also noted that the western world owes a lot to the Greek civilisation and called all the deputies to adopt the position that the Parthenon Marbles should return to Athens.
Greek ambassador to Australia Haralambos Dafaranos also addressed the meeting in which participated experts and scientists from all over the world.
On her part, the chief of all Australian Museums Bernice Murphy said that “Britain and Greece must start a dialogue. A solution could be to share these treasures».
The colloquy is organised by the Australian Committee for the Restituition of the Parthenon Marbles and opened on Friday at the Nicholson Museum of the University of Sydney.
