Greece still has ‘a long way to go’ before agreement with troika, source

“We still have a long way to go” before reaching an agreement, the official was quoted as saying, following a five-hour meeting between the troika representatives and financial officials, including Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras.
The Labour ministry has undertaken to bear the brunt of the state budget gap for 2014, which the government assesses at 1.3 billion euros. According to the official, 700 million euros of this can be covered by improved collection of pension funds’ revenues and battling tax evasion.
He also reiterated that “wages and pensions will not be affected.”
The troika representatives are currently meeting with Development Minister Kostis Hatzidakis.
