Nexus of narcotics found in Pireaus

Greek authorities have discovered a potential pipeline for illicit narcotics, officials have said.

A second container, brimming with 100 kilograms of cocaine, has been flagged for inspection, raising suspicions of a connection to a notorious drug cartel with ties to a Greek individual known by the moniker “Pablo.”

This discovery follows closely on the heels of a previous seizure where 210 kilograms of the same substance was found, authorities said.

said the methodical approach to the concealment of the drugs suggests a sophisticated operation, mirroring the tactics employed in both instances.

At least four people linked to the initial haul have been arrested. Among them, “Pablo,” previously implicated in aiding and abetting terrorists in Colombia.

Police said a 48-year-old Albanian, identified as the kingpin of the drug ring, had been arrested during a raid on Wednesday.

At least 180 bags of cocaine and scales were found in his possession. The parcels, emblazoned with a skull emblem, were stowed within a container of frozen shrimp.

Authorities say the latest bust underscores a relentless crusade by police to stem the tide of drug trafficking.
