Labor minister: New disability certification center in Galatsi will serve over 3,000 citizens per month

Over 3,000 citizens per month can be served by the new Center for Certification of Disability (KEPA) in the northern Athens municipality of Galatsi, Labor and Social Insurance Minister Niki Kerameus said on Friday, on the occasion of a visit at the premises by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis the same day.

In a post on social media, Kerameus said that the fully accessible Center

has extensive parking space. Another KEPA will be established at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) between Piraeus and Faliro.

The minister said the numbers of doctors working at KEPA have been doubled, from 500 to 1,200, in the last few months, while procedures are both digitized and simplified. She cited as example of the latter the expansion of an official list of irreversible diseases that will no longer require repeated certification.

As a result, Kerameus said, outstanding applications for appointments at KEPAs have dropped in one year from 30,000 to 10,000, and the effort to close the gap is continuing, and she thanked the mayor of Galatsi for his assistance in a smooth operation at the KEPA.
