Former Unaccompanied Minors Take the Stage at Delphi Economic Forum

In a remarkable session of the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, six young individuals, once unaccompanied minors from various countries, shared their inspiring journeys.

Hadi and Jamil, originating from Afghanistan; Mohamed, a native of Palestine; Negin, who hails from Iran; Keita, from Ivory Coast; and Amadou, from Guinea, have not only found news homes in Greece but become beacons of hope

Having arrived in Greece years ago, they have since navigated the challenges of integration, pursued education, and are now contributing back to society in significant roles. Their speeches at the forum highlighted their experiences, work, and aspirations for the future, showcasing impressive proficiency in the Greek language and a maturity beyond their years.

Employed, now ,by the General Secretariat for the Protection of Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection under the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, the youths are supported by the European Asylum Support Office (EUAA). Their stories are not just narratives of integration and perseverance but also testimonies to the power of education and the human spirit, migration officials said.

They said their storiesunderscored a vital message: that education and protection can transform lives.
