A recent trend adopted by Greece’s major political parties is to enlist Greek Olympic gold medalists and other famous Greek athletes within their ranks. The last thing Greece’s political establishment wants right now is for triple jumper Voula Papachristou

Here is the real reason the Hellenic Olympic Committee expelled Voula Papachristou from Greece’s Olympic Team. Here is proof that the pathetic Greek political establishment repeatedly places party politics above national interests, time and time again. Again, the last thing Greece’s political establishment wants is for Ms. Papachristou to win a gold medal in London for fear that she may someday join the ranks of a political opposition group and succeed in getting elected.

Translation: With so many Africans in Greece.. At least the mosquitoes of west Nile ..will eat home-cooked food!!!

For the past few weeks there has been a scare of a West Nile Virus outbreak in Greece. What Ms. Papachristou tweeted, known in her circles as free-spirited and life of the party, is actually a joke heard on Athens streets daily as well as circulating all over Greek social media. A harmless joke made up by a people who over the last two years have been exposed to a vicious downward economic cycle spiraling out of control while at the same time see themselves surrounded by millions of immigrants who have entered Greece illegally with no documents, no health checks and with a national unemployment rate approaching 25 percent see crime committed by the illegals rising exponentially.

The same political establishment which has failed to control this influx of illegal immigrants almost all of whom come to Greece from impoverished third-world Asian and African countries now flexes its muscle by expelling a national champion from Greece’s Olympic Team.

In today’s Greece democracy is repeatedly suppressed, free speech is scrutinized and "incorrect" political affiliation is stigmatized. The victims are Greece’s own citizens.
