Όσο παράξενο και αν σου ακουστεί, η McLaren δεν έχει κατασκευάσει ένα νέο εργαλείο που μπορεί να διαβάσει τον κινητήρα της F1, οπότε αυτό το αρχαίο laptop της Compaq της είναι αναγκαίο. Η McLaren λέει πως εργάζεται αυτή τη περίοδο πάνω στη κατασκευή ενός νέου συστήματος, μιας και η λειτουργία αυτού του προϊστορικού υπολογιστή γίνεται ολοένα και πιο δύσκολη, όχι μόνο επειδή οι τεχνικοί έχουν πλέον συνηθίσει να εργάζονται σε οκταπύρηνα συστήματα, αλλά επειδή τα μέρη αυτών των αρχαίων Compaq αρχίζουν να γίνονται πολύ σπάνια.

Στις σχετικές ειδήσεις η McLaren Special Operations ανακοίνωσε πως βγάζει προς πώληση την F1 με αριθμό πλαισίου #069, η οποία έχει διανύσει μόλις 4.500 χλμ. Είναι βαμμένη σε μαύρο χρώμα, έχει πινακίδες Αγγλίας και όποιος ενδιαφέρεται να μάθει την τιμή της, πρέπει να επικοινωνήσει με την ίδια την εταιρία.

Λίγο off topic, αλλά δεν μπορούσα να μην σου δείξω αυτό το video στο οποίο δείχνει πως ο στρατός των Η.Π.Α χρησιμοποιεί μέχρι και σήμερα στις πυρηνικές του εγκαταστάσεις, εκεί όπου φυλάσσονται πυρηνικοί πύραυλοι έτοιμοι για εκτόξευση, floppy δισκέτες 5.25!
