Στην έκθεση του Los Angeles τα Subaru WRX και STI, διαθέσιμα μόνο σε sedan

Η Subaru στην έκθεση της Νέας Υόρκης τον περασμένο Μάρτιο, είχε παρουσιάσει το WRX Concept, το οποίο θα το φέρει και τον Σεπτέμβριο στη Φρανκφούρτη. Τώρα γίνεται γνωστό πως η έκδοση παραγωγής του, θα παρουσιαστεί τον Νοέμβριο στην έκθεση του Los Angeles.

Τα νέα WRX

και STI θα είναι διαθέσιμα μόνο σε τετράπορτη sedan έκδοση, και όπως αποκάλυψαν οι spy φωτογραφίες, δυστυχώς, το μοντέλο παραγωγής έχει χάσει όλο εκείνο το φουτουριστικό σχεδιασμό του πρωτότυπου, κάνοντας το να μοιάζει απλά με ένα επιθετικό Impreza. Διαθέτει νέους προφυλακτήρες, καπό με εισαγωγή αέρα, πλαϊνές ποδιές, μεγάλη αεροτομή και xenon φωτιστικά σώματα με LED φώτα ημέρας.

Μηχανικά οι φήμες το θέλουν να εξοπλίζεται είτε με τον 2.0-λιτρο 4-κύλινδρο turbo κινητήρα του ανανεωμένου Legacy είτε με έναν 2,5-λιτρο turbo boxer κινητήρα. Όποιος κινητήρας και αν επιλεγεί τελικά, αυτός θα αποδίδει κοντά στα 270 με 300 άλογα. Θα συνδυάζεται με ένα μηχανικό κιβώτιο το οποίο θα στέλνει τη κίνηση σε όλους τους τροχούς μέσω του συστήματος τετρακίνησης της Subaru.

Τέλος η Subaru ανακοίνωσε πως τον Ιούλιο πούλησε 65.290 αυτοκίνητα (+111,3%), ενώ από την αρχή του έτους έχει πουλήσει 469.557 αυτοκίνητα.
