Η Mary Barra θα παίρνει τουλάχιστον 4.4 εκ. δολάρια ως CEO της GM

Η General Motors έγραψε ιστορία όταν ανέδειξε την Mary Barra ως CEO της αλλά η τελευταία της ανακοίνωση, αφήνει ορισμένα ερωτηματικά.

Η GM ανακοίνωσε πως η Barra θα λαμβάνει 1.6 εκατομμύρια δολάρια ετησίως για την δουλειά της ως CEO της φίρμας με 2.8 εκατομμύρια bonus ως μέρος του βραχυπρόθεσμου πλάνου κινήτρων της εταιρίας. Φυσικά, όπως καταλαβαίνεις, το χρηματικό bonus

δεν είναι σίγουρο αφού θα εξαρτηθεί από την απόδοση της Barra, αλλά τα 1.6 εκατομμύρια του “βασικού” μισθού της είναι. Υπάρχει επίσης η πιθανότητα, η Barra να λάβει κι άλλα χρήματα ως μέρος ενός άλλου bonus, αυτού του μακροπρόθεσμου πλάνου κινήτρων της GM αλλά ούτως ή άλλως, αυτό θα κριθεί το 2015 οπότε ας μην το λάβουμε υπόψιν.

Υπάρχουν δύο περίεργα σε αυτή την υπόθεση. Το πρώτο, είναι ότι ο βασικός μισθός της Mary Barra είναι 100.000 δολάρια το χρόνο λιγότερα από αυτά που έπαιρνε ο Dan Akerson. Το δεύτερο, είναι ότι ο Akerson, ακόμα και ως σύμβουλος της GM θα παίρνει περισσότερα από την Barra. Δεν ξέρω ποια η λογική πίσω από αυτές τις δύο αποφάσεις της GM και σε καμία περίπτωση δεν ισχυρίζομαι πως ξέρω καλύτερα. Το θέμα όμως έχει ήδη προκαλέσει τις αντιδράσεις κάποιων στις Η.Π.Α. καθώς οι Αμερικάνοι έχουν αποδείξει πως σε ορισμένες περιπτώσεις τείνουν να είναι (υπερ)ευαίσθητοι. Ο χρόνος θα δείξει…

GM Statement Regarding 8-K Filing of Barra and Ammann Compensation

DETROIT — General Motors today filed a form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission outlining a portion of the 2014 compensation for newly appointed CEO Mary Barra and President Dan Ammann.

According to the filing, a part of Barra’s 2014 compensation will total $4.4 million, comprised of $1.6 million in salary and $2.8 million under the company’s short-term incentive plan. Also for 2014, a part of Ammann’s compensation will total just over $2 million, comprised of $900,000 in salary and $1.125 million under the company’s short-term incentive plan.

These partial totals for Barra and Ammann do not include compensation that could be awarded under the company’s long-term incentive plan, which is subject to approval by GM stockholders at the company’s Annual Meeting in June. Details of the long-term plan and the remaining portion of Barra’s and Ammann’s compensation under it will be listed in GM’s 2014 proxy filing to be released in April.
