Ο Phillip Lim θα τιμηθεί στο φετινό China Fashion Gala

Η διεξαγωγή του φετινού China Fashion Gala μετατέθηκε από την άνοιξη το φθινόπωρο, στη Νέα Υόρκη με τιμώμενο πρόσωπο τον αμερικανό σχεδιαστή μόδας κινεζικής καταγωγής Phillip Lim.

Ο ετήσιος εορτασμός του κινεζικού ντιζάιν που αποτελεί πλατφόρμα για τα αναδυόμενα ταλέντα από την Κίνα, καθώς επίσης και φόρουμ για την αναγνώριση προσωπικοτήτων των οποίων η συμβολή βοήθησε να εδραιωθεί η

θέση της ασιατικής χώρας στην πρώτη γραμμή της παγκόσμιας μόδας και ομορφιάς είναι ένα ακόμη ανοιξιάτικο γεγονός που αλλάζει ημερομηνία λόγω της πανδημίας του κοροναϊού.

Το China Fashion Gala διοργανώνουν το Κινεζικό Ινστιτούτο και το ίδρυμα Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund, πρωτοβουλία της τηλεοπτικής παρουσιάστριας και παραγωγού και δημιουργού της σειράς προϊόντων ομορφιάς Yue-Sai Kan.

Τα περασμένα χρόνια στο China Fashion Gala έχουν τιμηθεί ο σχεδιαστής μόδας με έδρα τη Νέα Υόρκη, Jason Wu, η αρχισυντάκτρια της κινεζικής Vogue, Angelica Cheung, η Dee Poon επιχειρηματίας, ο διάσημος υποδηματοποιός, Christian Louboutin και το μοντέλο και ηθοποιός, Maggie Q.

Στο 5ο China Fashion Gala θα τιμηθούν επίσης η κινέζα επιχειρηματίας και φιλάνθρωπος Wendy Yu και η Κινέζα σχεδιάστρια μόδας, Xiong Ying.

Ο Phillip Lim γεννήθηκε στην Ταϊλάνδη από γονείς μετανάστες από την Κίνα, οι οποίοι στη συνέχεια μετακόμισαν στη νότια Καλιφόρνια για να ξεφύγουν από τον εμφύλιο πόλεμο στην Καμπότζη.

Σπούδασε Χρηματοοικονομικά για τρία χρόνια στο Κρατικό Πανεπιστήμιο της Καλιφόρνια στο Λονγκ Μπιτς, όπου έγινε φανερό ότι ήταν σε λάθος τομέα και αποφοίτησε με πτυχίο στην Οικιακή Οικονομία.

Συνεργάστηκε αρχικά με τη σχεδιάστρια μόδας Katayone Adeli και όταν εκείνη μετακόμισε στη Νέα Υόρκη ο Lim ίδρυσε στο Λος Άντζελες μαζί με τη φίλη και συνεργάτη του, Wen Zhou το brand Development.

Το 2005 και αφού είχε μεταφερθεί στη Νέα Υόρκη ίδρυσε το δικό του brand 3.1 Phillip Lim και άρχισε να κατακτά διακρίσεις και βραβεία.
