Με 300 εκατομμύρια χρήστες κάθε μέρα και 95 εκατομμύρια βίντεο και φωτογραφίες να αναρτώνται καθημερινά, δεν είναι τυχαίο ότι το Instagram αποτελεί δείκτη για τις τάσεις, αλλά και τις προτιμήσεις που δείχνουν οι άνθρωποι παγκοσμίως.

Σύμφωνα με τα στοιχεία που έδωσε στην δημοσιότητα η ίδια η εφαρμογή, ο κόσμος επέλεξε να επισκεφτεί αυτά τα πάρκα και αξιοθέατα περισσότερο από άλλα μέσα στο 2016.

8. Santa Monica Pier

Built in 1909 as a municipal pier to carry sewer pipes past the breakers, Santa Monica Pier has quite a history. Originally, there were 2 piers that were adjoining, but had two separate owners. The short, wider pier was an amusement park with a carousel, merry-go-rounds, a wooden roller coaster and a fun house. In the 1960s and 70s, the pier fell into disrepair and ultimately, in 1983, part of it was heavily damaged in a winter storm. Repair work was completed in 1990 to reveal a completely restored Santa Monica pier complete with an amusement park and an aquarium.
