H BMW τριάμισι χρόνια μετά την παρουσίαση της δεύτερης γενιά της Σειράς 1, παρουσίασε πριν λίγα λεπτά το, κακά τα ψέματα, επιβεβλημένο facelift του μοντέλου.

Η ανανεωμένη Σειράς 1 θα παρουσιαστεί στην έκθεση της Γενεύης τον ερχόμενο Μάρτιο και στιλιστικά διαθέτει αισθητά αλλαγμένο εμπρός μέρος. Αυτό απέκτησε νέα λεπτότερα φωτιστικά σώματα, παρόμοια με αυτά της Σειράς 2, τα οποία διαθέτουν LED φώτα ημέρας σε όλες τις

Επίσης, νέος είναι ο εμπρός προφυλακτήρας με μεγαλύτερες εισαγωγές αέρα, που η μάσκα με πλατύτερα νεφρά, ενώ δε λείπουν και οι χρωμιωμένες λεπτομέρειες. Το προφίλ έχει πιο έντονα νεύρα στους θόλους των τροχών και νέες οριζόντιες γραμμές που κάνουν το αυτοκίνητο να δείχνει μεγαλύτερο, ενώ οι αλλαγές συνεχίζονται και στο πίσω μέρος, όπου εντελώς νέα είναι τα φωτιστικά σώματα, τα οποία προεκτείνονται και στην πόρτα του χώρου αποσκευών. Αυτά έχουν γραφικά σχήματος L και διαθέτουν τεχνολογία LED.

Περνώντας στο εσωτερικό, το γερμανικό hatchback έχει αποκτήσει νέα κεντρική κονσόλα. Στο κέντρο της δεσπόζει μια οθόνη 6.5-ιντσών, με το χειριστήριο της να είναι τοποθετημένο στην κεντρική κονσόλα. Προαιρετικά μπορεί να τοποθετηθεί το σύστημα πλοήγησης με την οθόνη 8,8 ιντσών, με την γερμανική εταιρία να έχει επανασχεδιάσει τα κουμπιά του ραδιοφώνου και του κλιματισμού, ενώ οι αεραγωγοί διαθέτουν χρωμιωμένα πλαίσια. Τέλος, ο διζωνικός κλιματισμός διαθέτει λευκό φως κατά τη διάρκεια της ημέρας και πορτοκαλί κατά το βράδυ.

Αλλαγές υπάρχουν και στα μηχανικά μέρη, με την BMW να τοποθετεί εκτός από τους τωρινούς κινητήρες βενζίνης και πετρελαίου οι οποίοι ίσως καταναλώνουν λιγότερο καύσιμο, εκπέμποντας λιγότερο CO2, και τους νέους τρικύλινδρους 1.500 κ.εκ κινητήρες της, βενζίνης και πετρελαίου, στις εκδόσεις 116i και 116d. Έτσι η γκάμα της αποτελείται από τα ακόλουθα σύνολα, και πληρούν τις προδιαγραφές του Euro6.

Η 116i με τον τρικύλνδρο κινητήρα 1,5-λίτρων (1.499 κ.εκ.) απόδοσης 109 ίππων στις 4.500 και 180 Nm ροπής από τις 1.250 σ.α.λ.. Είναι τεχνολογίας TwinPower, με υψηλής ακρίβειας άμεσο ψεκασμό, VALVETRONIC, μεταβλητό χρονισμό και Double-VANOS. Τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα κάνει 10,9 δευτ., ενώ η τελική της ταχύτητα είναι 195 χλμ/ώρα. Η μέση μικτή κατανάλωση είναι 5,4 λίτρα/100 χλμ. ενώ οι εκπομπές ρύπων φτάνουν τα 126 γρ./χλμ.

Η 118i με τον τετρακύλινδρο 1,6-λίτρων (1.598 κ.εκ.) απόδοσης 136 ίππων στις 4.400 και 220 Nm μεταξύ 1.350 και 4.300 σ.α.λ. Είναι τεχνολογίας TwinPower, με υψηλής ακρίβειας άμεσο ψεκασμό, VALVETRONIC, μεταβλητό χρονισμό και Double-VANOS. Τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα κάνει 8,5 δευτ. (8,7 δευτ. το αυτόματο), ενώ η τελική της ταχύτητα είναι 210 χλμ/ώρα είτε με χειροκίνητο είτε με αυτόματο. Η μέση μικτή κατανάλωση είναι 5,7 λίτρα/100 χλμ. (το αυτόματο 5,9 λίτρα/100 χλμ), ενώ οι εκπομπές ρύπων φτάνουν τα 133 γρ./χλμ (137 γρ/χλμ το αυτόματο).

Η 120i φοράει τον ίδιο κινητήρα με την απόδοση του να αυξάνεται στα 177 άλογα στις 4.400 σ.α.λ., με τη ροπή 250 Nm από τις 1.500 σ.α.λ. μέχρι τις 4.500 σ.α.λ. Επιταχύνει για 0-100 χλμ/ώρα 7,4 δευτ. (7,2 με το αυτόματο), με τη τελική ταχύτητα να φτάνει τα 225 χλμ/ώρα (222 χλμ/ώρα για το αυτόματο). Η μέση μικτή κατανάλωση είναι 6 λίτρα/100 χλμ. (5,9 λίτρα/100 χλμ για το αυτόματο). Τέλος, οι εκπομπές φτάνουν τα 139 γρ/χλμ. (137 γρ/χλμ για το αυτόματο).

Η 125i φοράει ένα 2-λιτρο κινητήρα (1.997 κ.εκ.) απόδοσης 218 άλογα στις 5.000 σ.α.λ. και 310 Nm ροπή από τις 1.350 σ.α.λ. μέχρι τις 4.800. Είναι τεχνολογίας TwinPower, με υψηλής ακρίβειας άμεσο ψεκασμό, VALVETRONIC, μεταβλητό χρονισμό και Double-VANOS. Επιταχύνει για τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 6,4 δευτ. (6,2 για το αυτόματο), ενώ η τελική ταχύτητα φτάνει τα 245 χλμ/ώρα (243 χλμ/ώρα για το αυτόματο). Η μέση μικτή κατανάλωση φτάνει τα 6,7 λίτρα/100 χλμ. (6,5 λίτρα/100 χλμ για το αυτόματο), ενώ τέλος οι ρύποι είναι 157 γρ/χλμ (151 γρ/χλμ για το αυτόματο).

Στη κορυφή υπάρχει η M135i, όπου κάτω από το καπό υπάρχει ένας εξακύλινδρος εν σειρά 3-λιτρος (2.979 κ.εκ.) με τεχνολογίες της M Performance. Αποδίδει 326 άλογα στις 5.800 σ.α.λ., ενώ η ροπή του είναι 450 Nm από τις 1.300 μέχρι τις 4.500 σ.α.λ. Επιταχύνει για τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα 5,1 δευτ. (4,9 δευτ. για το αυτόματο), ενώ η τετρακίνητη έκδοση προσφέρεται μόνο με αυτόματο και επιταχύνει σε 4,7 δευτ. Η ταχύτητα περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 250 χλμ/ώρα σε όλες τις εκδόσεις, με την κατανάλωση να φτάνει τα 8 λίτρα/100 χλμ. (7,5 λίτρα/100 χλμ.), ενώ για την τετρακίνητη M135i xDrive 7,8 λίτρα/100 χλμ. Οι εκπομπές ρύπων είναι 188 γρ/χλμ (175 γρ/χλμ για το αυτόματο) και 182 γρ/χλμ για τη τετρακίνητη.

Από πλευράς πετρελαιοκινητήρων, τώρα, η 116d εφοδιάζεται με ένα τρικύλινδρο 1,5-λίτρων (1.496 κ.εκ.) TwinPower Turbo με μεταβλητής γεωμετρίας υπερσυμπιεστή. Αποδίδει 116 ίππους στις 4.000 σ.α.λ. και 270 Nm ροπή από τις 1.750 μέχρι τις 2.250 σ.α.λ. Επιταχύνει από τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 10,3 δευτ. με τον ίδιο χρόνο να κάνει και το αυτόματο. Η τελική ταχύτητα αγγίζει τα 200 χλμ/ώρα , με την μέση κατανάλωση να είναι 4.1 λίτρα/100 (4,1 λίτρα για το αυτόματο), ενώ εκπέμπει 107 γρ/χλμ.

Η 116d EfficientDynamics εφοδιάζεται με τον ίδιο κινητήρα, ίδιας απόδοσης και ροπής, αλλά επιταχύνει σε 10,4 δευτ., έχει τελική 195 χλμ/ώρα, η κατανάλωση πέφτει στα 3,8 λίτρα/100 χλμ, ενώ οι ρύποι 89 γρ/χλμ.

Η 118d φοράει ένα τετρακύλινδρο 2-λιτρο (1.995 κ.εκ.) κινητήρα απόδοσης 150 ίππων στις 4.000 και 320 Nm από τις 1.500 μέχρι τις 3.000 σ.α.λ. Επιταχύνει για τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 8,3 δευτ. (8,1 το αυτόματο) και 8,4 δευτ. η 118d xDrive, έχει τελική 212 χλμ/ώρα, κατανάλωση 4,3 λίτρα/100 χλμ. Έχει μέση κατανάλωση 4,5-4,1 λίτρα/100 χλμ (3,9-4,3 με το αυτόματο κιβώτιο) με 118 γρ/χλμ εκπομπές CO2 (103-114 γρ/χλμ με το αυτόματο κιβώτιο).

Τέλος, η 125d φοράει τον ίδιο κινητήρα με απόδοσης 224 άλογα στις 4.400 σ.α.λ. και 450 Nm από τις 1.500 μέχρι 3.000 σ.α.λ. Almost two million units of the BMW 1 Series have been sold worldwide over the last ten years, and this latest edition is poised to set another new benchmark in driving pleasure in the premium compact segment. The new 3-door and 5-door BMW 1 Series models come with a comprehensively revised engine line-up and additional measures designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, allowing them to lead the way once again in the introduction of new BMW EfficientDynamics technology.

The selection of engines available for the new BMW 1 Series model range has been enhanced by the addition of latest-generation petrol and diesel units with three and four cylinders. The torquey and high-revving engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology team up with rear-wheel drive – still a unique selling point in the compact segment – to deliver a suitably intense driving experience. And an even broader spread of standard equipment, an output boost for the six-cylinder in-line engine powering the BMW M135i M Performance Automobile and cutting-edge innovations from BMW ConnectedDrive also imbue the brand’s hallmark characteristics with renewed vigour.

Modified exterior and interior design includes familiar BMW styling cues underlining sports performance and premium characteristics.Carefully considered updates to the exterior design of the new BMW 1 Series shine the spotlight on its sporting elegance and high-end presence. A newly designed BMW kidney grille and larger air intakes help to emphasise the car’s dynamic potential in familiar BMW style. Headlights with a significantly flatter geometry play a similar role. They come with LED daytime driving lights as standard and can now be specified in full-LED specification as an option. The rear lights have also been completely remodelled. They now display the “L” shape characteristic of BMW models and reveal LED-powered lights. Elsewhere, the sophisticated design of the upper centre console with the controls for the radio and climate control system is foremost in accentuating the premium ambience on board the new BMW 1 Series.

Automatic air conditioning, BMW Radio Professional and BMW iDrive fitted as standard; new equipment variants.Standard equipment for the new BMW 1 Series model range now also features automatic air conditioning, a rain sensor, the BMW Radio Professional and the iDrive operating system, complete with a high-resolution 6.5-inch display integrated in the instrument panel as a freestanding monitor. And the Advantage, Sport Line, Urban Line and M Sport packages available as an alternative to standard specification provide fresh scope for targeted individualisation.

New generation of engines, new benchmarks in efficiency.An extensively updated line-up of engines and extended BMW EfficientDynamics technology ensure that the new BMW 1 Series model range once again sets new standards in its class by further reducing fuel consumption and emissions. BMW 1 Series customers will now be offered three- and four-cylinder power units from the BMW Group’s new engine family. The new efficiency pacesetter in the brand’s model range is the BMW 116d EfficientDynamics Edition with 85 kW/116 hp and average fuel consumption of 3.4 litres/100 kilometres (83.1 mpg imp) combined with CO2 emissions of 89 g/km in the EU test cycle.

As an alternative to the standard six-speed manual gearbox, there is the option of an eight-speed Steptronic transmission (standard in the BMW 125d, BMW 120d xDrive and BMW M135i xDrive). The latest version of the automatic unit now also offers transmission management supported by navigation data.

A 5 kW increase in output (to 240 kW/326 hp) from its six-cylinder in-line engine allows the new BMW M135i (average fuel consumption: 8.0 litres/100 km [35.3 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 188 g/km) to strengthen its position as the elite sports performer in the BMW 1 Series’ competitive segment. Like the BMW 120d and BMW 118d, the BMW M Performance Automobile can also be specified with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system xDrive which, as well as serving the causes of traction and directional stability, also enhances the car’s dynamics. The new BMW M135i xDrive (average fuel consumption: 7.8 litres/100 km [36.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 182 g/km) sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds.

Sophisticated chassis technology, Tyre Pressure Indicator fitted as standard.Advanced chassis technology teams up with rear-wheel drive and an almost perfect (50 : 50) distribution of weight between the front and rear axles to give the new BMW 1 Series unmistakable handling traits headlined by agility and dynamic excellence. Options include adaptive suspension, M Sport suspension, Variable Sports Steering and an M Sport braking system. A Tyre Pressure Indicator showing each individual wheel is now part of the standard specification.

New assistance systems and services from BMW ConnectedDrive.The selection of optional driver assistance systems from BMW ConnectedDrive available for the BMW 1 Series now also includes the radar-based Active Cruise Control system with Stop & Go function. The latest-generation Parking Assistant now enables parallel parking in tight spaces restricted either by two obstacles or on one side only, as well as automatic transverse parking. Features such as the camera-based Driving Assistant, rear-view camera and Speed Limit Info system with No Passing Info display can also be specified.

All models in the new BMW 1 Series line-up come as standard with an embedded SIM card, which allows use of the likewise standard Intelligent Emergency Call and BMW TeleServices functions, as well as access to optional internet-based mobility services. In addition to BMW Online and Real Time Traffic Information, customers can also enjoy the Online entertainment function. Further online services can be integrated into the car using smartphone apps and operated safely, intuitively and conveniently via the iDrive system. Meanwhile, the new Navigation system Professional also offers automatic map updating by mobile phone via the embedded SIM card, which is free of charge to customers for the first three years following registration of the car.
