H Land Rover ανακοίνωσε και επίσημα το Discovery Sport

Η Land Rover στο περιθώριο της έκθεσης της Νέας Υόρκης ανακοίνωσε το Discovery Sport, το πρώτο μέλος της νέας οικογένειας Discovery. Η εταιρία δεν έδωσε καμία φωτογραφία του μοντέλου, αλλά όπως γνωρίζεις ουσιαστικά πρόκειται για τη νέα γενιά του Freelander. Θα ξεκινήσει τις πωλήσεις του από το 2015 και θα βασίζεται πάνω στη μακριά έκδοση της LR-MS πλατφόρμας του Evoque,

χρησιμοποιώντας αλουμίνιο και άλλα σύνθετα υλικά, ώστε να μειωθεί το βάρος.

Στιλιστικά θα δανείζεται στοιχεία από το Discovery Vision concept, Range Rover Sport και Evoque. Θα διαθέτει 5-θέσια και 7-θέσια έκδοση και θα είναι διαθέσιμο με μια γκάμα τετρακύλινδρων AJ-200 ατμοσφαιρικών και κομπρεσοράτων κινητήρων, οι οποίοι θα καταναλώνουν λιγότερο καύσιμο, εκπέμποντας λιγότερο CO2.

Land Rover has today confirmed that the first member of the all-new Discovery family will be the Discovery Sport premium compact SUV.

The announcement was made by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, during his speech at the 2014 New York International Auto Show:

“I am proud to confirm the nameplate that will make Discovery a family of vehicles for the first time. It will be called Discovery Sport and will go on sale in 2015.

“This will be the most versatile and capable SUV in its segment and is the first expression of the Discovery Vision Concept unveiled here in New York.”
