Applications for the thirteenth edition of the AstroCamp are now open, until 30 April.

Organised by the Centre for Astrophysics of the University of Porto (CAUP), AstroCamp is an academic excellence programme in the field of astronomy and physics open to secondary school students from 42 different countries.

Starting in 2024, the AstroCamp becomes a three-year programme. Students can apply to it in the antepenultimate year of their secondary education.

Successful applicants will participate in a summer school, which this year will be from 4 to 18 August. Subject to a sufficiently good performance therein, students will be able to join various other remote and in person activities in the two subsequent years.

For students selected from countries outside Portugal, it is currently estimated that the cost of participation will be about 400 Euro plus the cost of travel to the nearest airport (Porto). Naturally these students can try to get support from our international partners (by contacting them directly) or from other local entities.
