Τρόμο προκάλεσε ο σεισμός των 7 Ρίχτερ στους κατοίκους της πόλης Άνκορατζ στην Αλάσκα, καθώς δημιουργήθηκαν σοβαρές ζημιές.

Το οδικό δίκτυο της Πολιτείας έχει καταστραφεί, ενώ αρκετά σπίτια έχουν κατεδαφιστεί ή έχουν υποστεί σοβαρές ζημιές. Ευτυχώς δεν υπήρξαν θάνατοι ή τραυματισμοί, με τον σεισμό ωστόσο να έχει προκαλέσει πολλά προβλήματα και ζημιές εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων.
