Since 2006, Asbestos.com has served as an advocacy center that provides hope and delivers quality resources and information for patients and loved ones coping with mesothelioma. Our vision is a world where everyone with mesothelioma has free access to information, services and support

to overcome this disease and live longer, healthier lives alongside their loved ones.

Army Veterans

Army veterans are at high risk of military asbestos exposure, which may cause mesothelioma or other asbestos-related diseases. Asbestos exposure was common in Army installations. Army veterans with service-related mesothelioma can file VA claims for 100% disability compensation and free treatment.

Navy Veterans with Mesothelioma

The Navy used more asbestos than any other branch of the U.S. armed forces. Navy veterans have a higher risk of mesothelioma than other members of the military. Navy veterans exposed to asbestos may qualify for VA benefits if they develop mesothelioma or other asbestos-related illnesses.

Air Force Veterans

Many U.S. Air Force veterans have been exposed to asbestos in military bases and aircraft. Air Force veterans with mesothelioma can receive disability compensation and free cancer treatment if they file a VA claim to have their cancer recognized as service connected.

Marine Veterans

Members of the U.S. Marine Corps have been exposed to asbestos in ships, airplanes and armored vehicles. Military housing for Marines also contained asbestos products. This has caused many Marine veterans to develop incurable diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.

Coast Guard Veterans

U.S. Coast Guard veterans experienced as much asbestos exposure as Navy veterans, who have the highest risk of developing asbestos-related diseases of all the military branches. The Coast Guard is a tenth the size of the Navy, leading to a comparable rate of mesothelioma but fewer cases overall.

Mesothelioma Treatment

The most common treatment for mesothelioma involves a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Supportive treatments can help relieve symptoms and improve quality of life for many mesothelioma patients.

VA Treatment Centers for Mesothelioma

Under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, VA treatment centers for mesothelioma across the country provide free medical care to veterans with the asbestos-related disease
