Μαμά βίδρα κρατά ζεστό και στεγνό το μικρό της που κοιμάται. Και το internet υποκλίνεται

Οι θαλάσσιες βίδρες είναι από τα πιο αξιαγάπητα θηλαστικά και δυστυχώς ένα ακόμη από τα σπανιότερα και πιο απειλούμενα θηλαστικά της ηπείρου ακόμη και στη χώρα μας που σύμφωνα με παλαιότερες αναφορές φιλοξενούσε έναν από τους μεγαλύτερους πληθυσμούς στην Ευρώπη.

Οι προηγούμενες ημέρες λοιπόν ήταν αφιερωμένες στην προστασία αυτού του υπέροχου ζώου που που ζει στις όχθες των ποταμών και των λιμνών και μόνο όπου τα νερά είναι καθαρά. Τα αρσενικά και τα θηλυκά ζευγαρώνουν οποιαδήποτε στιγμή του έτους μέσα στο νερό ενώ μετά από περίοδο κύησης 63 ημερών γεννιούνται ένας έως τέσσερα μικρά τα οποία εξαρτώνται πολύ από τη μητέρα τους επί ένα περίπου έτος. Το δε αρσενικό ασχολείται λίγο ή καθόλου με τη φροντίδα των νεογνών.

Συχνά δε οι θηλυκές βίδρες εμφανίζεται να κολυμπούν με ανάσκελα με τα μικρά τους να ξεκουράζονται επάνω τους.

Μια τέτοια φωτογραφία τράβηξε στο Monteray Bay της California και δημοσίευσε με αφορμή την εβδομάδα που είναι αφιερωμένη στη προστασία του ζώου και η Suzi Eszterhas -που διατηρεί και δική της ιστοσελίδα- και έχει βραβευτεί ως φωτογράφος άγριας φύσης.

Η συγκεκριμένη φωτογραφία στην οποία εμφανίζεται μια μητέρα βίδρα να κρατά ανάσκελα στην αγκαλιά της το μικρό της και να προσέχει να μην βραχεί, κερδίζει χιλιάδες likes στα social media. Σύμφωνα δε με τη φωτογράφο, η μητέρα φυσούσε ζεστό αέρα προς το μικρό της για να το κρατά ζεστό.

HAPPY SEA OTTER AWARENESS WEEK! Rescued otter pups at the Alaska SeaLife Center need touch. In the wild, otter mothers have physical contact with their babies for much of the time. When they are not diving and foraging, they keep their pups close on their bellies and sometimes even hold their paws.
