Some long runs are just plain HARD. This was one of those runs that I had zero desire to run from the beginning. Freezing temps and 25+ mph winds didn't make it any more enjoyable. I passed our block somewhere around mile 11.5 and said "Nope, I'm done." I just didn't have the motivation to run another 6 miles in the blustery cold. I came in house annoyed with myself for quitting when my husband suggested I hop on treadmill and see how I felt. So I put on a new episode of Scandal and happily ran the remaining miles (6.6) to make it 18 total (7:32 average) for day - and 54 for the week. Training won't always be easy. But it should always have an element of fun.
