Η Vera Wang στηρίζει τους εργαζόμενους της εταιρείας της εν μέσω πανδημίας

Η πανδημία που έχει προκαλέσει ο κορονοϊός στον πλανήτη μας μετρά πολλές και διάφορες πληγές. Εκτός από την υγεία των ανθρώπων, έχει ήδη επηρεάσει σε τεράστιο βαθμό την οικονομία πολλών χωρών. Εταιρείες έχουν κλείσει, εργαζόμενοι μένουν χωρίς εισόδημα και το μέλλον μοιάζει πιο αβέβαιο από ποτέ.

Ευτυχώς, υπάρχουν και κάποιοι εργοδότες που αποφασίζουν να υποστηρίξουν και να στηρίξουν τους εργαζόμενους τους όσο περισσότερο μπορούν. Ανάμεσα τους βρίσκεται και η Vera Wang.

Μπορεί η βιομηχανία της μόδας να μετρά ήδη πολλές πληγές λόγω κορονοϊού, ωστόσο η σχεδιάστρια μόδας αποφάσισε πως το γεγονός αυτό δεν θα επηρεάσει τη συνεργασία με την ομάδα της.

Συγκεκριμένα, η Vera Wang αποφάσισε να κρατήσει κλειστή την επιχείρηση της, ωστόσο όπως δήλωσε στο WWD πρόκειται να πληρώνει κανονικά τους εργαζομένους της και δεν πρόκειται να απολυθεί κανένας. Σύμφωνα με τη σχεδιάστρια, η κατάσταση που βιώνουμε όλοι δεν είναι δικό μας λάθος και δεν ευθυνόμαστε εμείς για αυτό. Έτσι, οι εργαζόμενοι της δεν θα χάσουν την ασφάλεια του μισθού τους αφού θα συνεχίσουν να πληρώνονται κανονικά.

Η σχεδιάστρια μάλιστα ανήκει στους εργοδότες που αποφάσισαν να κλείσουν την επιχείρηση τους πριν αυτό να γίνει αναγκαίο. Όπως δήλωσε στο WWD, ανησυχεί πολύ για τους εργαζομένους της και ήθελε να τους προστατέψει, ώστε όλοι να παραμείνουν υγιείς και να ασφαλείς. Ανάμεσα στους συνεργάτες της μάλιστα υπήρχαν άτομα που ανήκουν σε ευπαθείς ομάδες όπως εγκυμονούσες και δεν ήθελε σε καμία περίπτωση να πάθουν κάτι.

I have a lot of young marrieds working in my company, some of whom are pregnant, and a lot of marrieds with multiple kids. They said, “you give us a machine and a dummy; we would like to continue to work creatively.” I think they feel — not frustrated, I think they feel disconnected and discombobulated like we all do.
