Ο Πρίγκιπας Χάρι «κατέλαβε» το Instagram του National Geographic και ποστάρει φωτογραφίες από την Αφρική

Το ταξίδι του Πρίγκιπα Χάρι στην Αφρική ήρθε σε μια στιγμή που ο κόσμος έχει ανάγκη να γίνει κοινωνός της φύσης, να μιλήσει για την αναγκαιότητά της και για την στήριξη της ανάπτυξής της. Με το δάσος του Αμαζονίου να έχει υποστεί σοβαρό πλήγμα και με το δάσος της Σιβηρίας να έχει καεί σε ένα πολύ σημαντικό ποσοστό, η Αφρική αυτή τη στιγμή μοιάζει να είναι η λιγότερο κατεστραμμένη από την εισβολή του καπιταλισμού.

Τα δάση της δεν έχουν αποψιλωθεί στο βαθμό της Ινδονησίας ή του Αμαζονίου, αλλά το μεγάλο πρόβλημα εντοπίζεται στην πανίδα. Η πανίδα έχει πολλά

ζώα που βρίσκονται υπό εξαφάνιση και για να μπορέσουν να επιβιώσουν χρειάζονται δύο βασικά στοιχεία: νερό και χλωρίδα.

Η χλωρίδα δεν έχει μεν πληγεί, αλλά χρήζει τρομερής ενίσχυσης. Η παρουσία του Πρίγκιπα Χάρι και της Μέγκαν Μαρκλ στη Νότιο Αφρική, τη Μποτσουάνα, την Ανγκόλα και το Μαλάουι, είναι μιας πρώτης τάξεως ευκαιρία να αναδειχθούν όλες οι ανάγκες.

Γι΄αυτό το National Geographic ανέθεσε στον Πρίγκιπα Χάρι το προφίλ του στο Instagram. Εκεί ο Πρίγκιπας Χάρι θα ποστάρει φωτογραφίες από τα δέντρα που συναντά στον διάβα του και προσκαλεί τους ακόλουθους του NG να μοιραστούν κι αυτοί τις δικές τους φωτογραφίες.

Ήδη μετά την πρώτη ανάρτηση του Χάρι, έχουν ακολουθήσει αρκετές από το απλό κοινό. Σε αυτή τη φωτογραφία ο Χάρι ενημερώνει ότι βρίσκεται σε Εθνικό Δρυμό του Μαλάουι για να φυτέψει δέντρα.

Όλο αυτό είναι μέρος της καμπάνιας Looking Up που ξεκίνησε μετά την συνδιάσκεψη στον ΟΗΕ, εκεί όπου υπήρξαν πολλές παράλληλες συμφωνίες, με αρκετά κράτη της Καραϊβικής, της Αφρικής και της Ωκεανίας να δεσμεύονται για να φυτέψουν εκατομμύρια δέντρα στα εθνικά πάρκα τους.

Commonwealth countries have been invited to submit forests and national parks to be protected and preserved as well as to plant trees. The Duke has helped QCC projects in the Caribbean, U.K., New Zealand, Australia, Botswana, Malawi, and Tonga. Now, almost 50 countries are taking part and have dedicated indigenous forests for conservation and committed to planting millions of new trees to help combat climate change. The Duke’s longtime passion for trees and forests as nature’s simple solution to the environmental issues we face has been inspired by the work he has been doing on behalf of his grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for many years.
