Mid-season sales start Friday; shops open on Sunday, Nov. 3

In the three largest cities of the country – Athens, Thessaloniki, Piraeus – shops will be open on Sunday, November 3, for the first time, depending on decisions by the local commerce associations.

On Sunday, the shops in Athens will be open from 11.00-18.00, in Thessaloniki from 11.00-17.00 and in Piraeus from 11.00-15.00.

“We will have a sales period four times a year to support the market and allow consumers to take advantage of the lower prices”, said Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis at an event held on Thursday, a day ahead of the sales period.

“Some people continue to nag”, he said, referring to the opening of shops on Sunday, adding that “the nagging will be forgotten, what will remain is a positive change for the country, the market and the consumer”.
