President Papoulias on the prime minister's decision to distribute part of the social dividend to the armed forces

President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias on Wednesday underlined that the decision of Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to distribute a part of the social dividend to the members of the armed forces is a proof of the state's concern.

Papoulias addressed the country's military leadership and the newly promoted lieutenant generals, vice-admirals and air marshals, who were received at the Presidential Mansion accompanied by Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos.

“This small improvement in your salaries proves that the state has acknowledged the obligation it had toward you, because the cuts in your salaries were significant,” Papoulias underlined.
