IMF to postpone release of report on Greece until next week

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday said that the release of a report on the 5th review of Greece’s fiscal adjustment programme, conducted by an IMF mission led by Poul Thomsen, will be postponed until next week.

The IMF said there will be announcements in the next few days to give details on the report's release, as well as a teleconference briefing to be conducted by Thomsen.

According to an IMF announcement on Wednesday, the report was scheduled to be made available at 18:00 on Wednesday (01:00 on Thursday Greek time) but it would be released at noon (19:00 on Thursday Greek time). Thomsen was expected to brief journalists via a teleconference before the release (18.00 Greek time).

Last Friday, the IMF's board examined Thomsen’s report and approved the disbursement of 3.41 billion euro of economic aid to Greece.
