Caramelized figs with rum and cinnamon

These figs are a tasty delight. And if in the end I can confirm their tastiness, I can also say that the whole process was extremely delightful. I spent about an hour with my head bend, almost hypnotized by the exhilarating aroma of the rum, the cinnamon and the citrus fruits, watching the figs brown. I almost felt sad when I realised that it was time to turn off the heat and shut those aromas into jars.

When I first saw this recipe in Alessandra's site, I perceived it as a challenge and I thought "I will pick up this fig leaf...". And I wasn't mistaked.Both the result and the way there, were similar to a revelation.
