Unstable Weather Hits Much of Greece

Unstable weather conditions have been affected large parts of Greece, according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY).

The EMY forecast and experienced locally strong showers and thunderstorms beginning in the morning across Thessaly, the Sporades, Evia, and eastern Central Greece, which then expanded into Macedonia

by midday.

Some of these storms were accompanied by brief hailstorms.

Throughout Monday, unsettled weather with rain and sporadic thunderstorms will affect Thessaly, the Sporades, Evia, eastern Central Greece, eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and temporarily the central and northern Aegean Sea, gradually spreading to other mainland regions and Crete.

Storms remained locally intense until the afternoon, with a continued chance of hail in some areas. Conditions gradually improved in most regions during the evening.
