Starting price of heating fuel on Tuesday expected to be lower than 2022-2023 starting prices

The price of heating fuel at the start of the fuel season on Tuesday is expected to reach the lowest point since 2022, at 1.15-1.17 euros/liter in Attica, rising in other regions and the islands because of transport costs.

According to data from the Development Ministry's Price Observatory, the national average price

of heating fuel in 2023 at the winter starting period was 1.425 eu/lt (1.4 eu/lt in Attica). In 2022, it was1.409 eu/lt nationally and 1.379 eu/lt in Attica.

Market sources noted that consumption in April 2024 (the closing of the heating fuel cycle) shows that most consumers have not stored heating fuel for the coming winter. The same sources estimated that despite the warm weather, consumers who believe there is a danger of international prices rising, will rush to order.

Meanwhile, companies have announced offers on early orders. Shell announced on Monday that any consumers who buy heating fuel worth over 500 euros with the Bank of Piraeus Yellow cards from October 15 to November 31, will gain 6% through a credit card or prepaid card, a 3% with a debit card, and further bonus points with yellow gift cards for Shell car fuel.

In addition, consumers who choose Bank of Piraeus or carry out transactions with National Bank's go4more (Go for More) program will gain 2% with a credit card and 1% with a debit one. Those who choose to use Energy Mastercard cards by Alpha Bank will see a gain of 3%.

Avin, in collaboration with National Bank and the bonus program go4more, will offer 6% more go4more points on credit cards and 3% on purchases through debit cards of the National Bank.
