Prime MinisterKyriakos Mitsotakis hosted a delegation from Meta, including VicePresident for Safety Antigone Davis, at the Maximos Mansion todiscuss the protection of minors online.

The dialoguecentered on Greece's proposal to establish a harmonized digital ageof consent within the European Union, a measure that would mandateparental approval for minors using digital platforms.

The Meta executivesreiterated their company's strong support

for this initiative.

The meetingacknowledged Greece’s leadership in advancing the Europeanconversation on safeguarding children from harmful online content andthe dangers of digital addiction.

The effectiveness ofGreece’s "Kids Wallet" application, with its integratedparental control and age verification capabilities, was noted as asignificant contribution to this effort.

The partiesdiscussed fostering greater cooperation between public authoritiesand social media corporations to build robust protective measures forunderage users, reflecting a continued push to enhance child safetystandards across Europe.
