Hypnotherapist Set to Testify in Mazonakis Case as Investigators Probe Doctors' Communications

Hypnotherapist Nasos Komianos is expected to testify before investigators Monday about what he knows of Giorgos Mazonakis's fatal medical visit, after prosecutors confirmed the accused doctor sent him a photo of the singer during treatment even as the plasmapheresis machine was already sounding alarms.

Mr. Komianos has said he had a professional relationship with Dr. Gaka and had a 5 p.m. appointment scheduled with Mr. Mazonakis that day, which he says explains why she messaged him "all good" alongside the photo.

Investigators are also examining phone records between Dr. Gaka and her husband, Dr. Ilias Theodoropoulos, from the time Mr. Mazonakis arrived at the Karneadou Street clinic until the couple's initial police statements that evening, with additional witnesses expected to be summoned based on what the records show.

Paramedics who responded have told investigators the doctors refused to share information about the patient, and that Mr. Mazonakis showed no pulse or spontaneous breathing when they arrived, with both pupils dilated.

One EMT said Dr. Theodoropoulos, 58, was performing CPR and reported the clinic's defibrillator had failed.

Lawyer Nikos Agapinos is expected to file an appeal this week against Dr. Theodoropoulos's pretrial detention, arguing he learned of the emergency only after 4 p.m. while treating another patient.

The Mazonakis family's attorney, Charalambos Lykoudis, has called for scrutiny of clinic staff over potential false statements.
