Greek Parliament Approves Military Procurement Programs

Greece’s parliamentary armament committee has approved four significant military procurement programs for the Air Force and Navy.

The decision follows a comprehensive briefing by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias.

The approved programs encompass a range of strategic acquisitions including F-35 Fighter

Jets, frigates, drones and missile boats.

The Air Force will acquire twenty F-35 Block 4 fighter jets, The total cost of the acquisition will reach 3.47 billion euros.

The package includes technical support, pilot and technician training, additional engines, and simulators.

Greece’s participation in the Constellation-Class Frigate Program is estimated at €2 million.

The procurement committee also approved 40 million euros for the procurement of four Camcopter S-100 UAV and 16 million euros for engine overalls on the LASOS and KAVALOUDIS missile boats, ensuring their continued operational readiness.

The decision aim to enhance the country’s defence capabilities and to safeguard national security.
