Civil protection emergency declared in Voutes, Crete, due to fissures

A civil protection emergency has been declared in the area of Voutes in Heraklion, Crete, where fissures have recently appeared in houses, the church, and the playground.

As stated in a relevant announcement after a decision by the Secretary General of Civil Protection, the municipal community of Voutes was declared in a state of emergency “to address emergency needs and manage the consequences of the intense landslides that occurred in the last 24 hours”.

The measures will be in force for one month.
