αφού οι Ghostbusters Fans, μία κοινότητα φίλων των συγκεκριμένων ταινιών θέλει από την Sony Pictures Entertainment να αναπαλαιώσει το εικονικό ασθενοφόρο των κυνηγών φαντασμάτων.

Όπως μπορείτε να δείτε και από την φωτογραφία, η Cadillac Miller του 1959 που στην ταινία πήρε το παρατσούκλι ECTO-1 είναι σε αθλία κατάσταση έχοντας αφεθεί στη μοίρα του να σαπίσει από τη στασιμότητα. Οι Ghostbusters Fans όμως έχουν άλλα σχέδια. Σε πρώτη φάση, ζητούν από την Sony να τους πουλήσει το αυτοκίνητο σε εξαιρετικά χαμηλή τιμή –τιμή απόσυρσης-. Έπειτα, σχεδιάζουν να ξεκινήσουν μία καμπάνια στο Kickstarter ώστε να μαζέψουν τους απαραίτητους πόρους και να ξεκινήσουν την αναπαλαίωση. Μόνοι τους. Ghostbusters Fans aims to restore the iconic Ecto-1A from the Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE)film Ghostbusters 2. The over the top and eccentric car from the second film in the billion dollarGhostbusters franchise has been sitting on the movie studios’ backlot for the past several yearsand is in dire need of a restoration job. Having sustained a magnitude of damage from its years asa public display piece at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL the original vehicle sits neglected.

Ghostbusters Fans is expressing their intent to purchase the vehicle and restore her to better thanon screen appearance. The restoration project will be herald by the entire Ghostbusters Fanscommunity and publically funded through a future funding campaign on Kickstarter™, or a similarservice. Ghostbusters Fans is currently seeking support through a specially created website for individuals who would support the restoration project by signing their name to a petition to besent to Sony Pictures. The website has already attracted tens of thousands of visitors since its creation on October 10,2013, and chronicles the history of the Ecto-1A in recent years, along with previous restorationattempts.
