Έκθεση Γενεύης 2014: RUF RCT

Από την έκθεση της Γενεύης δεν θα μπορούσε να λείπει ο φημισμένος βελτιωτικός οίκος της RUF. H RUF εκτός από κάποια από τα παλαιότερα οχήματα που έχει/είχε στην γκάμα της, έφερε και την RCT.

Το όνομα είναι αρκτικόλεξο του “RUF Carrera Turbo” και ξεχωρίζει κυρίως χάρη στις μετατροπές που έγιναν από την μέση του αυτοκινήτου και πίσω. Κάτω από το κάλυμμα του κινητήρα, κρύβεται ένας twin-turbo flat 6 με χωρητικότητα 3.8 λίτρα που αποδίδει 525 άλογα στις 6.800 σ.α.λ. και 680 Nm στις 2.300. Για την ψύξη του εισερχόμενου αέρα,

φροντίζει ένα rear-mounted intercooler ενώ η ιδιαίτερης σχεδίασης πίσω αεροτομή παρέχει την απαραίτητη downforce. Η RUF προσφέρει την RCT σε διάφορα χρώματα, ως δικίνητη ή τετρακίνητη ενώ για τους πιο “ανήσυχους” πελάτες, υπάρχει η δυνατότητα προσθήκης roll cage ή/και custom ανάρτησης.

RUF’s turbocharged cars have a proven track record, sustained over 37 years at the cutting edge of automotive technology and design. A milestone model in the RUF sequel is the RUF RCT, originally launched in 1994. The abbreviation “RCT” stands for “RUF Carrera Turbo”. The performance gains achieved by transforming a normally-aspirated flat-six power-unit into a high-torque motor through RUF’s renowned turbo technology were enthusiastically received by devotees, clients and media alike. The 2014 RCT pays sincere homage to its heritage. The RUF RCT’s new, intercooled twin-turbo 3.8-litre engine develops 525 hp (386 kW) @ 6.800 rpm. Maximum torque is 502 lb/ft (680 Nm), arriving @ 2.300 rpm and upward. The RCT’s rear wing creates optimum downforce over the rear axle to further augment handling, whilst directing air to the rearmounted intercooler. The RUF RCT coupe can be configured with rear-wheel drive as well as an all-wheel drive powertrain. RUF’s vast options list for the RCT includes the famous IRC – or Integrated Roll Cage, custom suspension packages, as well as an enticing palette of bespoke colors.
