Ανάκληση 625.000 Toyota Prius v παγκοσμίως

H Toyota ανακοίνωσε πως προχωρά στην ανάκληση 625.000 Prius v παγκοσμίως. Το πρόβλημα εντοπίζεται στο λογισμικό του υβριδικού συστήματος και είναι παρόμοιο με αυτό που είχε οδηγήσει πέρυσι στην ανάκληση 1,9 εκατ. Prius.

Στα εμπλεκόμενα οχήματα, οι ρυθμίσεις του λογισμικού θα μπορούσαν να οδηγήσουν στη μεγαλύτερη θερμική καταπόνηση κάποιων τρανζίστορ του υβριδικού συστήματος που πιθανώς να υποστούν ζημιές. Αν συμβεί αυτό, διάφορες προειδοποιητικές λυχνίες θα ανάψουν στο ταμπλό και το αυτοκίνητο θα μπει σε ασφαλής λειτουργία.

Μάλιστα, σε σπάνιες περιπτώσεις, το υβριδικό σύστημα μπορεί να σταματήσει να λειτουργεί ενώ κινείται το όχημα, με αποτέλεσμα την απώλεια ισχύος. Από τα 625.000 Prius, τα 340.000 είναι στην Ιαπωνία, τα 160.000 στην Ευρώπη και τα 155.000 στη Βόρειο Αμερική.

Toyota Recalls Certain 2012 – 2014 Prius v

TORRANCE, Calif., July 15, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. today announced that it is conducting a safety recall of approximately 109,000 Model Year 2012-2014 Prius v hybrid vehicles.

In the involved vehicles, the current software settings for the motor/generator control ECU and hybrid control ECU could result in higher thermal stress in certain transistors, potentially causing them to become damaged. If this happens, various warning lights will illuminate and the vehicle can enter a failsafe mode. In rare circumstances, the hybrid system might shut down while the vehicle is being driven, resulting in the loss of power and the vehicle coming to a stop.

Owners of the involved vehicles will be notified by first class mail. Toyota dealers will update the software for both the motor/generator control ECU and hybrid control ECU in the involved vehicles.
