O Paddy Lowe θα προσφέρει τις υπηρεσίες του στη Mercedes από τις 3 Ιουνίου

Νωρίτερα από ότι αναμενόταν, η Mercedes AMG Petronas, ανακοίνωσε πως ο Paddy Lowe θα προσφέρει τις υπηρεσίες στην ομάδα από το Brackley, όχι από το 2014, αλλά από τις 3 Ιουνίου του 2013. Έτσι ο Lowe θα ενταχθεί στην ομάδα πριν από το Καναδικό GP το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί στις 9 Ιουνίου.

Paddy θα ενισχύσει την ομάδα στο ρόλο του εκτελεστικού τεχνικού διευθυντή και θα συνεργαστεί στενά με τον Ross Brawn, τον εκτελεστικό διευθυντή Toto Wolff καθώς και με τους ανώτερους τεχνικούς διαχείρισης της ομάδας. Η Mercedes-Benz ανακοίνωσε ότι ως επικεφαλής της ομάδας, ο Ross Brawn θα διατηρήσει τη συνολική ευθύνη για τεχνικά και αθλητικά θέματα της.

Ο Lowe, ο οποίος βρισκόταν στη McLaren για περισσότερα από 20 χρόνια δήλωσε:

Είμαι ενθουσιασμένος που θα γίνω μέρος μιας εξαιρετικά ταλαντούχας και ικανής τεχνικής ομάδας. Η ομάδα έχει ίσως το γρηγορότερο μονοθέσιο του 2013, με τις τεχνικές προκλήσεις των νέων κανονισμών για το 2014 να μα δίνουν την ευκαιρία να μεγιστοποιηθούν οι συνέργειες που υπάρχουν σε έναν κατασκευαστή αυτοκινήτων. Είναι μια πρόκληση για εμένα, έχω συνεργαστεί στενά με τη Mercedes για σχεδόν 20 χρόνια και θαυμάζω βαθιά την πρωτοφανής δέσμευση της εταιρείας για την Formula One “.

Ο Ross Brawn από τη μεριά του δήλωσε:

Paddy Lowe to join MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS on 3 June

Agreement has been reached between MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes for Paddy Lowe to join the team on 3 June.

Paddy will strengthen MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS in the role of Executive Director (Technical) and will work closely with Team Principal, Ross Brawn; Executive Director (Business), Toto Wolff; and the team’s senior technical management. As Team Principal, Ross Brawn will retain overall responsibility for technical and sporting matters.

Paddy Lowe commented: “I am excited to become part of a highly talented and capable technical organisation. The team has already produced probably the fastest car of the 2013 season while the technical challenges of the new regulations for 2014 will give us the opportunity to maximise the synergies available to a works manufacturer. That is a challenge I am relishing. I have worked closely with Mercedes-Benz for almost 20 years and deeply admire the company’s phenomenal commitment to Formula One. I look forward to much success together in the years ahead.”
