Hailo και MyTaxi της Daimler, ενώνουν δυνάμεις ενάντια στην Uber

Στην χώρα μας το carsharing δεν είναι καθόλου διαδεδομένο, στον υπόλοιπο κόσμο όμως, ξεφυτρώνουν συνεχώς νέες εταιρείες και οι κατασκευαστές αυτοκινήτων προσπαθούν να τις αξιοποιήσουν και να τις συνδυάσουν με το ολοένα και πιο εξελιγμένο connectivity των αυτοκίνητων τους.

Η General Motors έχει την Maven, η Toyota συνεργάζεται με την Uber, η Volkswagen επένδυσε στην Gett, η BMW

είναι με την Scoop και η Daimler με την Car2Go και συνεχίζει να επεκτείνεται!

Η μητρική εταιρεία της Mercedes Benz, ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι η βρετανική Hailo θα συγχωνευθεί με την My Taxi, την οποία η Daimler ήδη κατέχει. Σύμφωνα με το πρακτορείο Reuters, η Daimler θα πάρει το 60% των μετοχών της νέας εταιρείας, ενώ σε αντάλλαγμα οι πρώην μέτοχοι της Hailo το υπόλοιπο 40%. Η διαφορά στην τεχνογνωσία της MyTaxi είναι πως χρησιμοποιεί πραγματικά ταξί, κάνοντας την κλήση τους παιχνιδάκι.

Αυτή η συγχώνευση έρχεται για να δημιουργήσει την μεγαλύτερη διασυνδεμένη υπηρεσία ταξί στην Ευρώπη με 70 εκατομμύρια επιβάτες και 100 χιλιάδες οδηγούς σε 50 πόλεις, σε Αυστρία, Γερμανία, Ιρλανδία, Ιταλία, Πολωνία, Πορτογαλία, Ισπανία, Σουηδία και βεβαίως στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία.

Μαζί με αυτά, αξίζει να σημειώθεί επίσης πως και η Renault μπαίνει στο χώρο του carsharing με το Renault Mobility που ανακοινώθηκε την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα και στοχεύει κυρίως στην γαλλική αγορά.
Απ’ότι φαίνεται τα smartphones θα αλλάξουν εκτός από τον τρόπο με τον οποίο επικοινωνούμε και τον τρόπο με τον οποίο μεταφερόμαστε.

Hamburg / London, July 26, 2016 – mytaxi and Hailo, two innovative leaders in the field of taxi e-hailing, are joining forces and creating Europe’s largest taxi e-hailing company with 70 million passengers and 100.000 registered taxi drivers in over 50 cities across nine countries.

The geographic footprint of the two companies is very complementary. Hailo operates in the UK, Ireland, and Spain, while mytaxi is available in Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

The newly formed company will operate under the mytaxi brand and will rebrand all Hailo operations in UK, Ireland, and Spain by mid 2017. Andrew Pinnington will be appointed CEO of the new company. Niclaus Mewes, founder of mytaxi, is taking a seat on the supervisory board and in addition he will become Managing Director of Daimler Mobility Services GmbH. He will play a central role in the integration and strategic development of the new mytaxi company.

The announcement of the proposed combined business is subject to the approval of the European Regulatory Authorities and a decision is expected in the next weeks.
