Οι γυναίκες της βρετανικής Βουλής στο πλευρό της Μέγκαν Μαρκλ

Γυναίκες βουλευτές, από ολόκληρη την πολιτική σκηνή της Βρετανίας, εκφράζουν την αλληλεγγύη και την συμπαράστασή τους στην Μέγκαν Μαρκλ, απέναντι στη στάση που έχει υιοθετήσει κατά των ΜΜΕ, με αφορμή τη δημοσίευση άρθρων με επίκεντρο τον χαρακτήρα της και την οικογένειά της.

Νωρίτερα αυτόν τον μήνα, η Μέγκαν Μαρκλ προσέφυγε στη βρετανική δικαιοσύνη εναντίον εφημερίδας απαντώντας στο bullying που δέχεται το ζευγάρι από μερίδα των βρετανικών ΜΜΕ.

Την

ίδια ώρα, ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι δηλώνει ότι ο τρόπος με τον οποίο αντιμετωπίζουν οι βρετανικές ταμπλόιντ, τη σύζυγό του, θυμίζει τον τρόπο που προσέγγιζαν τη μητέρα του, την αείμνηστη πριγκίπισσα Νταϊάνα.

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual #WellChildAwards in London. WellChild aims to ensure every child and young person living with serious health needs has the best chance to thrive with the support and medical care needed in the comfort of their own home. The Duke of Sussex became Patron of WellChild in 2007, and last year both The Duke and Duchess attended the awards to honour the children and families that WellChild supports. Happy Heritage Day South Africa! • Today we are celebrating the great diversity of cultures, beliefs and traditions that make up the rainbow nation. Bo Kaap streets filled with colour and music while Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed to one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Cape Town. This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended #TheLionKing European premiere in London at the Odeon Theatre. In celebration of the film’s release, The Walt Disney Company announced #ProtectThePride, a global conservation campaign to support efforts protecting the rapidly diminishing lion population across Africa. As a part of their commitment to this cause, Disney also made a donation to The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming environment & community initiative which will be formally announced this autumn. Το αποκαλυπτικό ντοκιμαντέρ

Το πριγκιπικό ζεύγος, το οποίο έχει αποκτήσει και ένα γιο τον μικρό Άρτσι, μίλησε  δημόσια για την πίεση του να βρίσκεται συνεχώς στο επίκεντρο της προσοχής ΜΜΕ, στο ντοκιμαντέρ «Χάρι και Μέγκαν: Ένα Ταξίδι στην Αφρική» (Harry and Meghan: An African Journey).

Στο ντοκιμαντέρ που έχει προκαλέσει θύελλα αντιδράσεων και βρίσκεται στο επίκεντρο των βρετανικών ΜΜΕ,  ο δούκας και η δούκισσα του Σάσεξ μιλούν για μια σειρά θεμάτων, από την φήμη τσακωμού του Χάρι με τον πρίγκιπα Γουίλιαμ μέχρι την δήλωση της Μαρκλ ότι δεν είναι σε καλή ψυχολογική κατάσταση.

Η Μέγκαν Μαρκλ, στο πολυσυζητημένο ντοκιμαντέρ ανέφερε πως οι φίλες της, την είχαν προειδοποιήσει για τις ταμπλόιντ, όταν γνώρισε για πρώτη φορά τον Χάρι.

«Ποτέ δεν πίστευα ότι θα ήταν εύκολο, όμως νόμιζα ότι θα ήταν δίκαιο και αυτό ακριβώς είναι το κομμάτι με το οποίο δυσκολεύομαι πολύ να συμφιλιωθώ» σημείωσε χαρακτηριστικά η σημερινή δούκισσα του Σάσεξ.

Οι γυναίκες του βρετανικού κοινοβουλίου στο πλευρό της Μέγκαν

Η βουλευτής Χόλι Λιντς συνέταξε και έδωσε στη δημοσιότητα μια επιστολή, την οποία υπέγραψαν 71 γυναίκες συνάδελφοί της στη Βουλή των Κοινοτήτων.

«Ως βουλευτές από κάθε πολιτική τάση, θέλουμε να εκφράσουμε τη συμπαράστασή μας προς εσάς, για τη στάση που υιοθετείτε εναντίον της συχνά προσβλητικής και παραπλανητικής φύσης των άρθρων που δημοσιεύονται σε ορισμένες εφημερίδες σχετικά με εσάς, τον χαρακτήρα σας και την οικογένειά σας» τονίζεται στην επιστολή.

«Σε ορισμένες περιπτώσεις, τα άρθρα και οι τίτλοι ισοδυναμούν με εισβολή στην ιδιωτική σας ζωή, ενώ επιδίωξαν να διασπείρουν συκοφαντίες σχετικά με τον χαρακτήρα σας χωρίς κάποιο λόγο όπως μπορούμε να αντιληφθούμε», σημειώνουν.

Σύμφωνα με τις Βρετανίδες πολιτικούς, αν και ο ρόλος τους είναι πολύ διαφορετικός, επισημαίνουν την κατανόησή τους για την «κακομεταχείριση και τον εκφοβισμό» που χρησιμοποιούνται συχνά για τη δυσφήμιση γυναικών που κατέχουν δημόσια αξιώματα.
