Ο οίκος Gucci υποκλίνεται στον Γιώργο Λάνθιμο

Ο πολυβραβευμένος έλληνας σκηνοθέτης Γιώργος Λάνθιμος που έγινε διάσημος για την ικανότητά του να δημιουργεί ιδιόμορφους κόσμους μέσα στις ταινίες του, συνεργάζεται με τον οίκο Gucci.

Στις αρχές του καλοκαιριού, ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος έστρεψε το βλέμμα του μέσα από τον φακό της φωτογραφικής μηχανής του στην Cruise 2020 του Gucci για τις ανάγκες του look book της συλλογής του διάσημου ιταλικού οίκου.

Τώρα, καινούργιες φωτογραφίες με την υπογραφή του Γιώργου Λάνθιμου συγκροτούν ένα καινούριο βιβλίο τέχνης για τον οίκο Gucci, με τίτλο «Ωοτοκία».

Named after the statue that sits at its centre, ‘Leda and the Swan’, the Leda Gallery of Villa Albani Torlonia is the set of #Gucci’s new limited-edition portfolio of images shot by @yorgoslanthimos. The artbook’s title, Ωοτοκία ‘Oviparity’—meaning the production of eggs by an animal—also nods to the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan; in some versions of the story, Leda, having been seduced by Zeus in the form of a swan, lays two eggs from which two of her children are hatched. Φωτογραφημένα στην Αίθουσα «Λήδα» της Villa Albani Torlonia στη Ρώμη, τα μοντέλα ποζάρουν ανάμεσα σε ρωμαϊκά και αρχαία ελληνικά γλυπτά.

Ηλικιωμένοι άντρες και γυναίκες, με τα πρόσωπα καλυμμένα με άσπρη πούδρα μιμούνται τα αγάλματα, νεότερα πρόσωπα εμφανίζονται φορώντας της πολύχρωμες και εκλεκτικές Gucci δημιουργίες.

Ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος δήλωσε για το πρότζεκτ:

«Το να έχεις τους ηθοποιούς και τα μοντέλα να επικοινωνούν με το περιβάλλον, αντιπαραθέτοντάς τους με αυτά τα πανάρχαια αγάλματα και με τους ηλικίας αιώνων τοίχους ήταν ιδιαίτερα αναζωογονητικό».

«Αυτή η διαδικασία έμοιαζε να είναι, ταυτόχρονα, μια πρόβα για ένα μελλοντικό θεατρικό έργο και οι απαρχές της δημιουργίας μιας τελετουργίας την οποία τα πρόσωπα στις φωτογραφίες θα εξακολουθούν να επαναλαμβάνουν, τα χρόνια που έρχονται» πρόσθεσε ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος.

Ο Αλεσάντρο Μικέλε, ο διευθυντής δημιουργικού στον οίκο Gucci, εμπνεύστηκε από ένα συγκεκριμένο άγαλμα στον κήπο της βίλας, το «Η Λήδα και ο Κύκνος» – ρωμαϊκό αντίγραφο ελληνικού αγάλματος του 4ου αιώνα – για να εξερευνήσει, μεταξύ πολλών άλλων, τη σημασία του αντίγραφου.

«Ήταν λόγος χαράς το ότι μου δόθηκε η ευκαιρία να δημιουργήσω αυτές τις εικόνες εμπνεόμενος από τη δουλειά του Αλεσάντρο Μικέλε» υπογράμμισε ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος.
