Great feature in @britishvogue you know since I started designing in the late eighties my Ghanaian heritage has always been at the core of my creative process, fusing this heritage with classic #SavileRow tailoring , it shaped the way I use colour and design fabrics for my clothes. #Africanism is a celebration of Africa, an acknowledgment of how our culture, style, music and traditions have inspired, influenced and impacted the world. With this collection I wanted to redefine the meaning of luxury and create a new visual language in this space. I have always pushed beyond the boundaries and believed in evolving traditions in order to create an emotional connection with the wearer. I'm a staunch supporter of promoting Africa in a brighter light and I feel that the world is now ready to hear different story from Africa, a story that’s rich in tradition, pride, style and creativity in it’s purest form and it was very important to me to start this story in Africa. Παρ’ όλο που έγραψε ιστορία ως ο πρώτος μαύρος διευθυντής δημιουργικού στον γαλλικό οίκο μόδας, δεν επικεντρώθηκε στην πολιτική ταυτότητας. «Υπήρξε κάποια πολιτική ορθότητα. Δεν θέλατε (οι δημοσιογράφοι) να δώσετε έμφαση [στο γεγονός ότι κάποιος είναι μαύρος]. Τώρα, το κάνετε» πρόσθεσε, αποδίδοντας αυτή την αλλαγή νοοτροπίας σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο στις δύο προεδρικές θητείες στις ΗΠΑ του Μπάρακ Ομπάμα.
