Λιν Σέλτον : Πέθανε η σκηνοθέτης διάσημων τηλεοπτικών σειρών

Σε ηλικία 54 ετών έφυγε από τη ζωή η Λιν Σέλτον (Lynn Shelton) πρωτοπόρος του ανεξάρτητου κινηματογράφου και διάσημων αμερικανικών σειρών, έχοντας υπογράψει μεταξύ άλλων επεισόδια του «Mad Men» και του πρόσφατου «Little Fires Everywhere» με την Ρις Γουίδερσπουν.

Χόλιγουντ, του οποίου αποτελούσε αγαπημένο και φωτισμένο κομμάτι, έγινε πρώτη φορά γνωστή με το «Humpday» (2009), κωμωδία που έκανε θραύση με ήρωες δύο φίλους που αποφασίζουν να γυρίσουν γκέι πορνό με τον Μαρκ Ντουπλάς και τον Τζόσουα Λέοναρντ στους πρωταγωνιστικούς ρόλους.

Δημιουργός της ανεξάρτητης αμερικανικής παραγωγής και ακούραστη στυλοβάτης του, η σκηνοθέτης είδε την ταινία της να αποκτά και γαλλικό ριμέικ με πρωταγωνιστές τους Ιβάν Ατάλ και Φρανσουά Κλουζέ.

Η ίδια συνέχισε κινηματογραφικά με τις κομεντί «Your Sister’s Sister» (το 2011 με τους Μαρκ Ντουπλάς, Έμιλι Μπλαντ) και το «Laggies» (το 2014 με τους Κίρα Νάιτλι, Σαμ Ρόκγουελ και Κλόε Γκρέις Μόρετζ), ενώ υπέγραψε διάσημα σίριαλ όπως τα Mad Men, The Mindy Project, Glow, Fresh Off The Boat και Little Fires Everywhere με πρωταγωνίστριες τις Ρις Γουίδερσπουν και Κέρι Γουάσινγκτον.

Το Χόλιγουντ δεν δελέασε την Λιν Σέλντον όσο κι αν ο πειρασμός ήταν μεγάλος. Η Marvel της έκανε πρόταση για να σκηνοθετήσει το «Black Widow», αλλά εκείνη είπε όχι, επιμένοντας στο δικό της όραμα.

Η Λιν Σέλτον ήταν παντρεμένη με τον ηθοποιό Κέβιν Σιλ από το 2014.

Τις τελευταίες ώρες στα social media, μερικά από τα διασημότερα ονόματα της βιομηχανίας την αποχαιρετούν με το δικό τους τρόπο.

I’m so devastated to hear about Lynn Shelton’s passing yesterday. I’m in complete shock that this vibrant, talented, and soulful filmmaker is no longer with us. Lynn was so passionate about our show, Little Fires Everywhere. She said the book truly spoke to her, and that she longed to direct a show that spoke meaningfully about motherhood, sexuality, race, and class in America. And she did. She cared deeply about the WHOLE cast and crew, making sure we all felt heard, seen and appreciated. Lynn also shared so much of her life with us. Her love of her son, how motherhood changed her life, her life changing decisions that made her the woman she was. I feel so fortunate that I got to collaborate with Lynn on both The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere. Her spirit touched so many people in the filmmaking world. Her memory lives on in our vivid days together on set and in her wonderful films. Please watch her work and see her talent for yourself. #RestInPeaceLynn
