Ο Λορέντσο Κουίν «Χτίζει γέφυρες» στη Βενετία

Το καινούργιο γλυπτό του αποκάλυψε, στη Βενετία, ο Λορέντσο Κουίν (Lorenzo Quinn): στην είσοδο του Arsenale -στα καρνάγια, όπου στο παρελθόν η πανίσχυρη Γαληνοτάτη ναυπηγούσε τις γαλέρες της- έξι ζευγάρια χέρια ενώνονται. Κάθε ένα εκπροσωπεί και μία παγκοσμίως αποδεκτή αξία: φιλία, σοφία, βοήθεια, πίστη, ελπίδα, αγάπη.

I feel both humbled and excited to present my latest monumental sculpture to you ‘BUILDING BRIDGES’. Each pair of hands celebrates one of six

universal human values: Friendship, Help, Faith, Wisdom, Hope and bringing them all together, Love. The project has been extremely challenging but absolutely worthwhile and I am eternally grateful towards my entire team and @halcyongallery for the support. We’re in the final leg now. Η Βενετία επιλέχθηκε ως το ιδανικό μέρος για την παρουσίαση της πιο πρόσφατης δουλειάς του Κουίν γιατί για καιρό ήταν τόπος διεθνούς εμπορίου και χωνευτήρι πολιτισμών.

«Η Βενετία είναι μια πόλη που ανήκει στην παγκόσμια κληρονομιά και είναι μια πόλη γεφυρών. Είναι το κατάλληλο μέρος για να διαδοθεί το μήνυμα της παγκόσμιας ενότητας και ειρήνης ώστε πιο πολλοί από μας, σ’ όλον τον κόσμο, να χτίζουν γέφυρες προς τους άλλους αντί για τοίχους και φραγμούς» τόνισε ο Λορέντσο Κουίν.
