Plastikophobia : Τι συμβαίνει όταν ενωθούν 18 χιλιάδες πλαστικά ποτήρια;

Στη Σιγκαπούρη, ο Βον Γουόνγκ, τα Imaginary Studios και μια στρατιά εθελοντών ακούραστα συνέλεξαν και καθάρισαν 18 χιλιάδες χρησιμοποιημένα πλαστικά ποτήρια για να δημιουργήσουν ένα σπήλαιο, το οποίο ονόμασαν Plastikophobia.

Η εντυπωσιακή εγκατάσταση Plastikophobia, για τους δημιουργούς, δεν σημαίνει «φόβος του πλαστικού». Αναφέρεται στον φόβο για το τι θα συμβεί στον κόσμο μας αν δεν πάψουμε να παίρνουμε απρόσεκτες αποφάσεις: το να ρουφήξουμε για λίγα

δευτερόλεπτα από ένα πλαστικό ποτήρι σημαίνει, ενδεχομένως, χρόνια και χρόνια που αυτό το ποτήρι θα επιπλέει στα νερά των ωκεανών.

Οι δημιουργοί, σύμφωνα με το ΑΠΕ- ΜΠΕ αφού συνεργάστηκαν με την Εθνική Υπηρεσία Περιβάλλοντος της Σιγκαπούρης για τη συλλογή του υλικού, θέλησαν η εγκατάσταση να είναι φωτογραφίσιμo σκηνικό ή, για την ακρίβεια, «Instagrammable» ώστε, ο κάθε περιηγητής σε αυτό το μέσο κοινωνικής δικτύωσης να πέσει θύμα αυτού του «όπλου μαζικής δημιουργίας».

«Όπλο μαζικής δημιουργίας» είναι η ατάκα των Imaginator Studios, του κατασκευαστικού στούντιο το οποίο ανέλαβε την κατασκευή αυτής της «παγίδας» στο Instagram.

Ο Γουόνγκ έχει υψηλή περιβαλλοντική συνείδηση, και θέλει να μοιραστεί αυτή την ευαισθησία με άλλους.

Στο μπλογκ του, διαβάζουμε: «Αν γνωρίζετε κάποιους στη Σιγκαπούρη που θέλουν να ευαισθητοποιήσουν, με δημιουργικό τρόπο, κόσμο για αυτό το θέμα, στείλτε τους στην αίθουσα τέχνης Sustainable Singapore Galleries, στο Marina Barrage, από ως τις 18 Απριλίου».

Check out @vonwong’s art installation piece at the Marina Barrage in #Singapore, #PLASTIKOPHOBIA! It’s opening on the 7th March 2019 and will be open for public viewing and experience till 18 April 2019. Star light Stars with plastics bright… The entire art installation called #plastikophobia highlights the ugly truth of human environmental damage caused by plastic pollution. 18,000 plastic cups were collected in less than a week from various places like food courts and hawker stalls.
