On Sunday November 3rd I’m shedding all this divaness to hand cycle THE NYC marathon. I along with 50,000 people will take a 26.2 mile journey across the 5 boroughs. H Mama Cax έχασε το πόδι της σε ηλικία 14 ετών από καρκίνο στα κόκκαλα, αλλά αυτό δεν την εμπόδισε να γίνει μοντέλο, ακτιβίστρια και blogger.

Mama Cax For @henning So many reasons why I love this picture. When I first came up with the concept of a chrome silver leg I wanted something that looked fluid using Zaha hadid’s architectural designs as inspiration. The first prototype didn’t quite workout so @alleles and I went along with a simple chrome silver cover. The idea was simple, in contrast with my leg cover that’s painted with chalkboard paint( which is meant to be interactive and inviting especially with kids- I give them a piece of chalk and let them go crazy)- this one however was meant to be mirror like and a reflection of days where I don’t feel like interacting with Strangers on the metro or answer the myriad of questions I get asked daily. I imagined standing in a field of flowers where the reflection of my surrounding would almost make the leg look invisible- but it never translated as such in real life .. until this photograph. I love how it looks transparent and mimics a jellyfish. After my amputation I had so much body insecurities, if my future self came up to me and told me that one day I’d transcend these feelings and start seeing my body as art, I would never believe it. A piece forever In progress yet art at every stage. #mamacax . (S.N : this is a flexible ankle by @ossur it allows me to wear heels up to 3-3.5 in) _________________________________________

Any fun getaways this winter? Where are y’all heading?- I love a suitcase that screams “she has her life together” even though I always complete my packing right before heading to the airport. I tend to overpack because I like to have options but the International carryon is perfect for a 2-3 day holiday.
