Greece to more trade with western Europe, he said, and "creating the prerequisites for a new Greece which we are all dreaming of, above and beyond parties."

Commenting on the times, the premier said, "I believe we are going through a time when we should be encouraging unity rather than separation, and the role of a leader is to further unity, not discord or separation. The messages we are receiving lately are messages of discord."

To them "I want to promise that we will continue ahead with stable, steady steps with the country's growth."

Samaras also visited the Patras science and technology park, which houses innovative technological units and businesses and was given a tour of the premises, adding that the government planned to invest 1.3 billion euros up to 2020 in research and technology.
