Galpin Auto Sports Acura TLX to debut at SEMA featuring custom styling and performance modificationsAcura Racing Spirit alive with radical TLX GT Race Car for Pirelli World Challenge series2015 Acura TLX features Acura Genuine Accessory package

Acura’s 2014 SEMA Show vehicle display will feature three distinct iterations of the hot-selling, all-new Acura TLX luxury performance sedan, with each variant expressing the performance character of the Acura brand and its customization potential.

The display is highlighted by the debut of the Galpin Auto Sports Acura TLX, which features custom exterior styling and chassis modifications by Galpin Auto Sports. The Galpin Auto Sports TLX will be joined by the twin-turbo TLX GT Race Car, jointly developed by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and RealTime Racing, and a 2015 Acura TLX with the Genuine Acura Accessory package.

“The Acura brand has always been about a luxury performance experience, which, of course, includes the look and feel of the product,” said Dave Marek, Global Creative Director of Acura Design. “We collaborated with Galpin Auto Sports to help us have some fun in speaking to this fundamental part of Acura DNA and we’re excited about what they have helped us create.”

Acura’s 2014 SEMA Show display will be taking a big step up in prestige with the premiere of a two-tiered exhibit space for show guests. Acura will be hosting media and other special guests on the second tier of the exhibit throughout SEMA Show press days. RealTime Racing’s Peter Cunningham also will be in the Acura booth on November 4 with the TLX GT racecar that he campaigns in the Pirelli World Challenge series to talk with SEMA Show attendees.

Galpin Auto Sports Acura TLXThe Galpin TLX represents a collaborative effort between Galpin Custom Car Works and the Los Angeles-based Acura Design Studio. Sketches developed by Acura Design and the exterior cues of the TLX GT racecar served as the basis for performance-oriented exterior modifications made by Galpin. The Galpin TLX showcases a new signature Acura brand color, Andaro Blue. Modifications featured on the Galpin Auto Sports Acura TLX include:

ECOBOOST-POWERED 2015 FORD MUSTANG FROM FULL-RACE MOTORSPORTS SET TO COMPETE IN SCCA FOLLOWING SEMA DEBUT

Full-Race Motorsports Mustang

The 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine debuting with the 2015 Ford Mustang ushers in a new era for pony car performance. Tuners like Full-Race Motorsports are more known for transforming imports into racers, but for the 2014 SEMA show, they’re bringing a very pumped-up pony car.

The small turbocharging outfit in Phoenix is developing an extensive kit dubbed “FreakoBoost” for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost. “We’re hand-building it all in-house; it’s a big task for our 15 guys,” notes Eric Marquiss, Full-Race Motorsports logistics manager. Changes include a new intake, a new exhaust manifold, bigger twin-scroll BorgWarner turbocharger, turbo downpipe, intercooler, oil cooler and cat-back exhaust system. The normal EcoBoost output of 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque has been pushed to an estimated 500 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque.

“We’re building this as a real race car,” Marquiss adds. “After SEMA, it will compete at SCCA events and eventually time attack events. This will be a plated, fully functional, street-driven track car that’s very competitive.”

To that end, the Mustang is getting an extensive set of racing parts. A functional carbon fiber rear spoiler and front splitter, coilover suspension, Penske adjustable dampers, uprated limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes, an adjustable roll-center kit, adjustable front and rear antiroll bars, Toyo Process R888 tires on Volk wheels and FIA-approved racing seats are just a few of the many parts being installed.

Look for the Full-Race Motorsports 2015 Ford Mustang on display in the Ford booth, Nov. 4-7.

Mustang and F-150 take over 2014 SEMA showThe Full Race Motorsports Mustang will be one of many customized vehicles on display in the 20,000-square-foot Ford booth at the upcoming SEMA show. Expect to see cars and trucks from Galpin Auto Sports, Petty’s Garage, Skyjacker and many others. The 2015 Ford Mustang is vying for “Hottest Car” at the show, while the 2015 Ford F-150 is in the hunt for “Hottest Truck” of SEMA. Vaughn Gittin Jr. will be thrilling the crowds with drift shows at the Ford Out Front venue

CLASSIC DESIGN CONCEPTS OUTLAW MUSTANG SHOWING AT SEMA

Classic Design Concepts Outlaw Mustang

One of many customized 2015 Ford Mustangs debuting at the upcoming 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas is the Outlaw by Classic Design Customs. The company is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a convertible Mustang featuring its signature Lightbar, but there are plenty of other goodies: The car rides one inch lower than a standard Mustang GT on Steeda shocks and springs; Wilwood brakes provide stopping power, and a Ford Racing supercharger bumps the 5.0-liter V8’s output to an estimated 625 horsepower. Styling changes include a carbon fiber chin spoiler, unique grille inserts, hood graphics and 20-inch wheels designed by Classic Design Concepts.
